What engines are easy to work on?
Hands down, it is the LS family of General Motors V8 engines, which includes the LS1, LS2, LS3, Vortec 4.8, Vortec 5.3 and Vortec 6.0. Of the thousands of engines I have repaired, I can attest that the LS engines are one of the best-engineered engines available. They are extremely easy to repair.
It can be extremely easy or a nightmare depending on your skill level and what tool's you have on hand. The more you do it the easier it will become. Some people can rebuild a whole engine in under a day and barely even have to think about what their doing. It also depends on how greedy you are.

The Porsche 718 Boxster, 718 Cayman and 718 Spyder have four-cylinder boxers (flat-fours).
